Title I Program for Non-Public Schools

Title I services may be provided on-site at local private schools, including religiously affiliated schools, or at other locations. Funds are generated on the basis of the number of children from low-income families who reside in the participating Montebello Unified School District attendance areas, but attend the private school. Private school students who reside within a Title I attendance area and who are failing or at risk of failing to meet high academic standards in English language-arts and/or mathematics are eligible to receive services utilizing a Targeted Assistance Program model, with services provided by MUSD or a third-party provider. Title I funds are used to provide scientific research-based supplemental programs, as well as instructional strategies, to identified MUSD Title I students in order to accelerate their progress and bridge the achievement gap in these two specific content areas. Local private schools located within the Montebello Unified School District that participate in the Title I program include:

  • Armenian Mesrobian School (Pico Rivera)
  • Bell Gardens Christian School (Bell Gardens)
  • Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary (Montebello)
  • Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal School (Montebello)
  • St. Benedict School (Montebello)
  • St. Gertrude School (Bell Gardens)
