Nutrition Services

Nutrition Services is dedicated to reinforcing lifelong health and learning habits through serving and teaching good nutrition.  This is accomplished by:

  • Providing every student well-balanced meals and healthy food choices that will enhance the learning process
  • Maintaining the required standards of food safety
  • Being a resource for nutrition education to teachers, students and the community

Summer Meals | Comidas de Verano

MUSD Seamless Summer Meals Program Press Release

 

Free meals are available to all children in the community age 18 and under this summer. Meals are served on a first come, first served basis. No applications, no enrollment or reservations required. Meals are to be consumed on campus only. The schedule is subject to change. Please see the serving schedule for the latest updates.

 

Comidas gratis son disponibles para todos los niños de 18 años y menor en la comunidad. Se sirven las comidas por orden de llegada. No se requieren aplicaciones, inscripción, ni reservas. Hay que quedarse en el recinto escolar mientras se consume las comidas. El horario de servicio puede cambiar. Favor de leer el horario para información actualizada.

The 2019-2020 Meal Application will be mailed to households in July.  Anyone who wishes to obtain additional forms may do so at the Nutrition Services Department, located at:

Food Safety Practices

  • Each cafeteria supervisor/lead maintains current food handler’s certificate (ServSafe certified)
  • All cafeterias adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) practices to insure food safety. A copy of HACCP standard operating guidelines is available for review at Nutrition Services’ department office, 1612 Mines Avenue, Montebello.
